So your score dropped below 94. Now what?

Here’s your next step:

Write down what you’re going to focus on tomorrow. Most likely, it’s the same thing—accuracy. Stay there. Don’t scatter your focus.

Then—pray again. Be honest with God about how today felt. The frustration, the disappointment, the doubt. Ask Him to help you become more accurate and steady.

Next—write down the fearful thought you had. For many, it sounds like:

“What if I never pass? What if I never make it to the finish line?”

Now replace it with truth.

In the Bible, Paul talks about pressing forward, not looking back. And in the book of James, we’re reminded that we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. If it’s the Lord’s will, we will move forward and finish.

So don’t let a moment define your outcome.

Finally—lift your voice. Sing something that centers you.

“Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art…”

Sometimes, the walls you’re facing aren’t external… they’re internal.

Fear.

Doubt.

The urge to quit.

And sometimes, you have to sing those walls down.

Keep going.
